The Texas town of Bullard is an all-American small town with an idyllic atmosphere and picturesque charm. As a bedroom community to the big city of Tyler, Bullard is also a town that continues to experience rapid growth. Currently with a population of 2,463 Bullard is well-known as a family friendly community.
The amenities, attractions, and benefits to living in Bullard are truly numerous, and the purpose of this piece will be in describing the unique nature of this very underrated community.
Construction of a new kid’s park was completed in January of 2013. This fully functional family-oriented park is complete with a slide, a jungle gym, and a climbing wall as well. There are also picnic tables available for those a little older who desire to relax while watching children or just to simply enjoy the nice summer weather.
During the school year there is also opportunities to take in some high school athletics, with Panther baseball, football, and basketball being provided from the local Bullard Independent School District High School teams. Moreover, a short ten minute drive away will bring you to a standard golf course in the Eagle’s Bluff Community and Country Club.
This course also has amenities available for those are usually not golfing enthusiasts, including walking trails, a swimming pool and a 24 hour fitness center as well. Vast Lake Palestine is also situated nearby, providing ample opportunities for fishing, boating and water side picnics. Bullard also has the benefit of being in a populated region; the larger communities of Tyler and Jacksonville are centrally located among opposite sides of this great little community.
Bullard offers the utmost in a laid back, small-town way of life, yet at the same time this community is not isolated. Bullard offers that great small town feel with the benefits of a growing population. During the 2009 census the population was in the 2,300 range and now has grown by a couple hundred people to around 2,500.
The demographics of Bullard are mostly Caucasian, with some Hispanic and African American as well. The median age of this community is in the mid-30′s.
Naturally, the community of Bullard is very family-oriented as many are raising young children in their mid-30′s. Housing prices are fairly reasonable as well. A cursory look at real estate listings in this area shows some very clean and move in ready homes in the $100,00-$200,000 range. There are even a few listings that individuals could build upon as well.
The schools of Bullard are under the jurisdiction of the Bullard Independent School District. There is a primary school, an elementary school, an intermediate school, and a middle and high school.
The schools regularly score high on standardized tests, and are characterized by dedicated professionals from the administration, the educators, and all of the support staff as well.
